Check out the 3-D objects my regular Geometry kids designed, drew 2-D nets for, calculated surface area/volumes for, and then finally built:
I love them! :)
The year's winding down. I feel GREAT. We're definitely ending on a good note. Kids are doing some cool things across all of my classes these days. Life's been busy, but when I get a chance to catch up I'll write more about other projects besides this one. Ciao!
Thanks so much for sharing these great projects and especially for putting photos up! I'm a first year teacher and I had some pretty lackluster projects turned in this year. I'm hoping to revamp the projects and look forward to inspiring my students with photos of your students' projects! Thanks again!

AMAZING. Do you have an outline of the project or the instructions/requirements asked of the students?
ReplyDelete@Mrs. H You're welcome. I'll upload more photos once the honors batch of projects come in. :) Some of the honors kids are a bit more adventurous with the pentagonal prisms and what not.
ReplyDelete@Curmudgeon OMG, I love them!! Thanks for sharing the link!
@Mrs. R Yep... Look two entries back. I had descriptions of the project. If you want the actual Word file, let me know.
Wow, I'm super impressed!! Putting it in my "things to try next year" file!
ReplyDeleteCan you post some examples of the calculations and explanations that you received from your students?
ReplyDeleteSure! Gotta wait a bit though. Right now I'm slammed getting ready to move out of El Salvador in 2 weeks........ I'll try to post some sample work soon.
